<image:title>Skid Row Zine - Poems and Art by Linda Leigh</image:title>
<image:caption>Life is like a freeway, fully speed ahead, sometimes stop and go, or you are just sitting and waiting, in the moment. My life has been a series of moments where exceptional things have happened, and I can write about them, sharing glimpses about the people that made an impact on me, and hopefully I made an impact on them, too. <image:title>Skid Row Zine - Roomers</image:title>
<image:caption>Each of these interesting characters, The Roomers, were drawn into existence over the past year by Garrison Alecsaunder. Garrison chose to have the accompanying descriptions written by different participants in the Creative Writing Salon at LAMP. The writers were challenged with writing three things: a description, the character’s motivation in life, and a love letter. It all worked perfectly. <image:title>Skid Row Zine - Issue #1</image:title>
<image:caption>SENSE / SELF is the inaugural issue of SRZ (Skid Row Zine), an independent zine celebrating the faces, voices, and most importantly, the creativity of the artists and writers in Skid Row. SENSE / SELF features nine paired self-portraits, some visual, some written, and some a combination of both. The written work is a poetic essay inspired by a lifetime of sense memories, while the visual component needs only to represent some aspect of the artist’s sense of him or herself. Some contributions are literal, some whimsical, some abstract. To receive a copy, please email skidrowzine@gmail.com.</image:caption>
